When I was a senior in high school, my English teacher- Mr. Bob Davis- told us "We don't talk about sex in here, we call it Scrabble. That way if someone walks in, talking about Scrabble in an English class seems appropriate." When I was student teaching with Bob Davis' team teacher- Mr. Dan Krznarich- he told the students the same thing. I have done as the great Davis and Krznarich and passed this tradition on to my students as well.
That being said, student quote for today (after reading the balcony scene in Romeo and Juliet): "So Romeo and Juliet only read the directions for Scrabble but haven't played yet, right?"

And Away We Go
And so it begins. My plan is to use this to chronicle some of the crazy, funny, bizarre comings and goings.
I will update when I can and hopefully keep your interest. :)
For starters, a funny student comment: "Ms. Silverman... question. Did gangs start cuz of Romeo and Juliet? Like, did that Shakes-guy invent them?"
